Botox® Facials

Are you bothered by lines and wrinkles that have appeared on your upper face? If so, you may be able to benefit from Botox. Botox is a popular injectable treatment that works to smooth dynamic lines for a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. At SKN, Dr. Pirani offers Botox injections to help his patients meet their anti-aging goals.

What is Botox?

Botox is an injectable neurotoxin that works to smooth dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are those that form as a result of repeated facial movements such as smiling and squinting. Botox works by blocking the nerve impulses to a muscle, causing it to relax. This results in the softening of the appearance of lines for a more youthful appearance.

Botox is most commonly used to treat:

  • Glabellar lines
  • Forehead creases
  • Crow’s feet
  • Corners of the mouth
  • A cobblestoned look of the chin

Who is a Candidate?

Healthy individuals who are 18 years or older and wish to smooth dynamic lines can often benefit from Botox. However, you may not be an ideal candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of bleeding disorders, or have an active infection at the injection site. What to Expect During Treatment

During a Botox treatment, Botox will be skillfully injected into the treatment areas. Treatments are usually well tolerated and feel like small pinches. This process is typically fairly quick, taking about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Botox Results

Following Botox injections patients may experience mild redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection sites. While there is no downtime needed, patients are advised to avoid strenuous activity and alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours for the best results. Be sure to avoid rubbing the treatment areas and laying on your face as well.

It can take up to 2 weeks for the full effects of Botox to become noticeable. Results typically last 3-4 months in most areas when optimally dosed.
